Heba or Tian? Heba. As exciting as making her
??? about having magic would be, B'Elanna is very tech aligned, passionate, action-oriented and is a bit of a thrill-seeker.
Acquired Ability: Alien physiology
Personality Traits: Curious
Creative
Determined
Stubborn
Hostile
Impulsive
History: linkCanon Abilities/Skills: KLINGON. Klingons are naturally stronger than humans, have a different internal organ structure and an acute sense of smell. They have higher pain thresholds, and endurance and can withstand injuries better than humans. They also have an extended lifespan compared to humans. Even though B'Elanna is only half-Klingon her strength is still in line with full-blooded Klingons.
ENGINEER. B'Elanna is a capable engineer, highly competent in both theory and practical application. Due to her time in the Maquis she is used to working with a lack of resources, terrible equipment and having to be creative to get things to work (or hold them together).
COMBAT. B'Elanna has been a fighter since a young age, capable with her fists and a phaser/phaser-rifle.
Suitability: I was drawn to its space setting and planet exploreyness. The conflict going on, problem-solving and how would they react to this/get involved is very interesting. B'Elanna's been a resistance fighter before, she's been involved in various alien conflicts and it'll be interesting whether she sticks to Starfleet principles or dips back into old Maquis habits (or her Klingon temper gets the better of her).
Her skills (both alien and engineering) are what she'll fall on, trying to build things to be useful or for her own purposes. She's also going to try and find some people to network with, with similar or different skills to be the most effective they can be in info purposes etc. (Which could make tethers interesting).

CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
What are your character's feelings on freedom? How would they define freedom? How important is it to them? Would they fight for it, or have they fought for it in the past? If they have, how did they go about it?Freedom is someone's ability to make choices for themselves, free from oppression or struggles. Given that B'Elanna joined the Maquis, a group of resistance fighters who look for other ways to solve problems, freedom is very important to B'Elanna. The Maquis has gotten involved in both human-related plights and struggles on planets in the Demilitarized Zone, including both poverty, crime and the Cardassian Occupation. Whilst the Maquis have been labelled both traitors and terrorists, and do use rather destructive methods, they consider themselves freedom fighters and doing what needs to be done and what Starfleet won't do.
Describe a formative moment in your character's life, something that changed them and defined who they are as a person.B'Elanna's father left her when she was five, walking out and never returning. Whilst she faced a lot of bullying growing up due to her half-Klingon heritage, this moment was the defining moment in her own self-loathing of her Klingon half due to B'Elanna believing that she was the reason that her father left. After overhearing a conversation her father had with her uncle about how difficult it was living with two Klingons, she grew to resent being Klingon, the temper that she couldn't control and tried to hide her forehead to appear human. It would take over twenty years for B'Elanna to start becoming more at ease with her Klingon heritage, exploring it and accepting that side of her.
Does your character have a favorite person? If so, how would they describe that person? What do they like about that person? What do they dislike? If they don't have a favorite person, what would they look for in a favorite person? What traits would draw them to another person? What traits could they tolerate that others might not be able to?B'Elanna wouldn't define him as her favourite person but as a mentor, close friend and someone that she truly trusts. Chakotay once saved her life, becoming her commander when she joined the Maquis and a heavy defender of her when they had to join with Voyager for both her talents and who she was as a person. B'Elanna truly respects him for the decisions he's made in command, for both the Maquis and Starfleet, trusts him with both more private aspects of herself and being both vulnerable and
herself and turns to him when she needs advice. She would describe him as loyal, someone you can rely on and a smart man.
What has your character's arc been like so far? How have they developed from their first appearance to their canon point? When we first meet B'Elanna she is incredibly angry, almost constantly looking for a fight and is unwilling to bend to follow the Starfleet regulations that she finds herself in. Though it seems all she needs is a chance and some faith: she starts to (attempt to) temper her reactions, follow instructions and be an example when she's given a chance as Chief Engineer, to make sure others can rely on her. Though B'Elanna was able to fit in professionally it would take longer for her to relax more personally, to make friends, to open up and let people
really get to know her. Having people around her, being in a (semi) calmer atmosphere and not being actually at war has also helped to calm some of her Klingon temper. It's noticed by others that she bottles it up, that she closes up at her problems and when she's having a bad day she's unwilling to speak her mind (lest she get too honest or releases that temper) and whilst daily she's externally calmer and in control she does slip and have her more hostile, uncontrolled moments. At least she's gotten better at apologising or admitting her faults when this does happen.
How would you like to continue your character's arc in the game? How would you like them to develop? What would you like to have them accomplish?B'Elanna's arc is going to be very different here to what it would be like in canon. She'll have fewer reasons to work on personally calming herself, may be more likely to dip into old Maquis habits with the conflict they're placed in and might let her temper out more than she'd like. She'd look for engineer cr, people with other useful skills that could find information or be willing to work as a sort of team. She'll work on trying to build things with any scrap or objects she can find (whether or not she can get them working). Maybe there'll be friends. Maybe she'll make good life choices, maybe she'll make chaotic ones.
